Back To The Gym Feeling Great

Post closure has had me in an all time high with having the ability to go back to the gym. With all that is going on in the world, there is never a more perfect place to be to deal with frustrations while improving yourself physically. I mean, do not get me wrong, it is not like I stopped when things closed down. I am just so happy to be lifting weights again and not dealing as much with the longer workouts doing full body weight. It is a fundamental build up mentally for sure.

Despite the opinions of those afraid to return to the gym, I have been blessed to work out in a gym already prepared and functionally upgraded. The staff takes care of the cleanliness of the gym and everyone else is being considerate. The importance of keeping the gyms open is being considerate between one another. I have to sometimes turn down the noise around the world and keep the continuation of my self-improvement. I truly believe that one’s mind improves when the invest in the improvement on their physicality as it truly mends with mental health.

Does this mean I believe that going to the gym or exercising improves mental health? You’e absolutely right, I do. I think if you get yourself in a culture where you are not improving yourself and your overall health in the future, how can you say you are necessarily living a positive life? Now do not get me wrong, I do not think anyone who doesn’t come to the gym are stuck in the loop or doing anything wrong. I just think it could be an improvement in their life by investing their time in improving their health.

When I returned, I actually found I gained more strength from a couple months of doing core workouts, so that felt pretty good. Getting to see friends while lifting again was great and everyone just seems like in a much better move. I found that mentally, I felt so much better. Feels like a 2nd home to me almost every time.

One thing I think a lesson I continue to learn over life is that you do not know what you got til it is gone. Coming back made me feel more appreciative of the available equipment and vibes. However, this has made me more vigilant on what equipment to invest in should something go down again. Stay tuned on that as I do have some wishlist things I am going to get for my home gym in case I have to work at home for a few months.
